Substance abuse affects the entire family. The Mini Kidz Klub provides on-site and community outreach programs to educate children about the risks associated with drug and alcohol use.
On-Site
The on-site Mini Kidz Klub program offers our residential clients the opportunity to re-establish and strengthen the parent/child bond and to help them cope with the many challenges they face as the result of long-standing behaviors that have eroded their relationship. Moms and children participate in educational activities designed to promote the prevention of alcohol and drug use. The goal is to interrupt the multi-generational legacy of addiction.
Community Outreach
The community outreach Mini Kidz Klub program provides education and prevention to children in high at-risk communities. Mini Twelve Step House staff participates in community events, conduct visit schools, and host holiday activities where children learn the value of a healthy drug-free lifestyle. Children pledge to remain drug-free and receive certificates to commemorate this pledge. Books and other child friendly materials designed to educate them about the severe consequences associated with drug use are routinely distributed in support of this effort.
